Washington State
Makeup Artist Regulations

You do not need a license to become a makeup artist in Washington. In the state of Washington, makeup application is not defined under the term “Cosmetology” nor “Esthetics” (Chapter 18, Section18.16.020, (29) and (30))*, therefore, the practice of makeup artistry is not regulated by the Washington Licensing Department.

The certificate you’ll receive from Beautistry Makeup Academy is sufficient proof of professional makeup training.
